All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination ( AIPMT )
In compliance with the directive of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, the Central Board of Secondary Education,
Delhi, would be conducting the All-India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination, 2009. This entrance
examination is being conducted exclusively for the 15% merit positions for the Medical/Dental Colleges of India
as specified in the directive of the court and will be governed by the rules and regulations specified for the same by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare from time to time
The schedule for the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination for the year 2010 is as follows:

PATTERN OF AIPMT 2009
The entrance examination consists of :
• Preliminary Examination:
The Preliminary Examination would consist of one paper containing 200 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 3 hours.
• Final Examination: (Only for those who qualify in the Preliminary Examination).
The Final Examination would consist of two papers each of 2 hours duration. Paper-1 would contain questions from Physics and Chemistry and Paper-2 would contain questions from Biology (Botany & Zoology).The Final Examination will have conventional (non-objective) type of questions to be answered in the Answer Book supplied.
LANGUAGE OF THE QUESTION PAPERS
Candidates can opt for Question Papers either in English or in Hindi. This option should be exercised while filling
in the Application Form. It cannot be changed later.

ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS
(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./DENTAL Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.
(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical /Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Schedule Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
Candidate must born between -
(a) 31.12.79 to 31.12.92 (SC/ST/OBC Category)
(b) 31.12.84 to 31.12.92 (Other Category)
(iii) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.
(iv) Students from the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K are not eligible, as both these States had opted out of All India Scheme since its inception. If they claim eligibility they must submit an affidavit, in original, in the Proforma on Rs 10/- Non-Judicial Stamp Paper duly sworn before and attested by a Metropolitan Magistrate/First Class Judicial
Magistrate to the effect that:-
a) They are not eligible to compete for MBBS/ BDS seats in the States of Andhra Pradesh/J&K and hence not eligible to seek admission in Medical/Dental Colleges of Andhra Pradesh/J&K.
and
b) They are not domiciled in Andhra Pradesh/
J&K.
Note : Applications not accompanied with the
required affidavits or accompanied with
incomplete, unattested or photocopy of the
affidavit shall be summarily rejected without
any further reference in the matter. The
affidavits submitted by such candidates will
be verified and if found to be false, the
admission of all such candidates shall be
cancelled and criminal proceedings may be
initiated against them..
(v) Qualifications and Qualifying examination

The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to
10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of such study
comprising Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after introduction of the 10+2+3 educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
OR
CODE : 02
The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (which shall include practical test in these subjects) and English.
OR
CODE : 03
The Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English after passing
either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-University or an equivalent examination. The Preprofessional/
Pre-medical examination shall include practical test in these subjects.
OR
CODE : 04
The first year of the three years’ degree course of a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and
Biology including practical tests in these subjects provided the examination is a University Examination
and further that he/she has passed the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and
English.
OR
CODE : 05
B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University provided that he/she has passed the B.Sc. Examination with not less
than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) and further that he/she has passed
the earlier qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English
OR
CODE : 06
Any other examination which in scope and standard (Last 02 years of 10+2 Study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology; Which shall included practical test in subjects.) is found to be equivalent to the Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board, taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical tests in each of these subjects and English.
Provided that to be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the
